On the 14th of June, I will be running 2 laps around the infamous Zandvoort racing track for the Dutch Heart Foundation!

Cardiovascular diseases affect around 1.8 million citizens of the Netherlands, roughly 10% of the population, and these account for about 23% of deaths. The incidence and prevalence rates have also not decreased much since 2010, and are currently increasing. These diseases negatively affect the lives of both patients and the people around them, as well as putting a great strain on the healthcare system, giving rise to an increasing demand for research around treatment and prevention.

For these reasons, I would like to raise funds for the Heart Foundation so that research in this area can progress more effectively.
